Blah... Blaw... bLAW

It's been that kind of weekend/week. I blame all of this on being almost seven months pregnant, exhausted, and feeling disillusioned witht the mid-semester slump-- although can it be a mid-semester slump when we're only 6 weeks in? That's scary.

So, I'm officially 27 weeks pregnant, the Peanut is as big as a 2 pound eggplant, and my feet are starting to swell.

I'm about 150 pages behind in reading... which I hope to catch up on this afternoon. However, for the successes-- I did complete the law journal application packet I a few weeks ago, and hopefully it was good enough to get me on the journal. I don't expect the editors to look at it and say it was brilliant, but hopefully I squeaked by on my Chicago editing skills and Blue Booking experience.

Hopefully. Because it was painful and humiliatiing enough to be a Writing major, published author, still get a below average grade on my Legal Writing class. If I don't make the law journal, it'll be another huge hit to my bruised ego. Hmm... keeping my fingers crossed.

Congrats on finishing that write on packet! If you do get on a journal, it will be LOTS of work, but it's SO much fun and really rewarding. Being on a journal was my favorite part of law school actually (says the biggest nerd EVER! haha).

Oh and I saw your tweet...yep those hot flashes are normal! This winter my husband was FROZEN in his sleep with 3 blankets on him and I slept with our sheet and usually in my birthday suit. Welcome to that third trimester! hee hee

Congrats!

FWIW, my legal writing teacher hated me, and used every opportunity she could to cut me down a peg. She'd make suggestions, I'd make them, and then she'd criticize her own suggestions.

It was demoralizing, but you know what? I am a really good legal writer. Right out of law school, other lawyers paid me to ghost write their briefs and edit their work. My legal writing instructor can KISS MY ASS.

(Not that I'm bitter or anything, even though it's been 7-8 years since I was in her class.)

Ahem.

Regarding the swelling: check your blood pressure, just in case it's a first sign of preeclampsia (everyone kept telling me how normal it was, but it wasn't for my pregnancy.) It's probably nothing, but better to be safe and catch it early.

nah, don't be so hard on yourself! A mid-semester slump can occur at any time IMO!

Hope you make it. It's a ton of work! Just take it easy. :) And, yes, the hot flashes are normal, as is the swelling for many people but E.H. is right on the pre-e - just keep an eye on your BP.
